# COUNTIF

Returns the count of cells that meet a specified criteria

## Syntax

```
COUNTIF(range, criteria)
```

## Arguments

| Argument   | Description                              | Required |
|------------|------------------------------------------|----------|
| `range`   | The range of cells to count              | Required |
| `criteria` | The criteria to count cells by           | Required |

## Examples

### Count cells greater than or equal to 90

```
=COUNTIF(A1:A6, CELL >= 90)
```

Result ⇒ 3

### Count cells equal to specific text

```
=COUNTIF(A1:A4, CELL = "Yes")
```

### Count cells less than a value

```
=COUNTIF(A1:A4, CELL < 15)
