# MAX

Returns the largest number from the provided arguments

## Syntax

```
MAX(number1, [number_n])
```

## Arguments

| Argument   | Description                                      | Required |

| `number1` | The first number or range to compare             | Required |
| `number_n`| Additional numbers or ranges to compare          | Optional |

## Examples

### Find maximum of individual numbers

=MAX(10, 7, 9, 27, 2)

Result ⇒27

### Find maximum in a range

=MAX(A1:A5)

Result ⇒27
