# SMALL

Returns the k-th smallest value in a data set

## Syntax

```
SMALL(array, k)
```

## Arguments

| Argument | Description | Required |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `array` | The array or range of data for which you want to determine the k-th smallest value | Required |
| `k` | The position (from the smallest) in the array or cell range for which to provide a value | Required |

## Examples

### Find the smallest value (1st smallest)

=SMALL(A1:A5, 1)

Result ⇒2

### Find the second smallest value
